About Raquel

Raquel works as a Homeopath. In between all the different disciplines of art, nutrition and health that she has studied, when asked what she wanted to be, the only answer that has always come to her was that, she wanted to Evolve as a Human Being.

As a Homeopath, Dancer, Painter, Pianist, Actress, Composer, Teacher, Mother of three homeschooling children, and all those names on chosen professions that one could take off into their infinity, Raquel is always creating opportunities, in each of her abilities and research, to bring to life a work that can share its ultimate expression of our deep sensibility and a constant research to our development as Human beings.

Raquel has being Caring for her health and her family solely with Homeopathy for the past 3 years. Raquel has started her own practice (www.homeopathyechoes.com) in 2022, educating and caring for others in 2022 with Homeopathic Medicines. Has graduated from the Academy of Practical Homeopathy® of Joette Calabrese based on the 150 years of experience of the Banerji’s Clinic in India. She also practices and studies Mega potencies and Radionics with Jill Turland, a pioneer of high dilutions of the 21st century, and is currently studying the Sensation Method with Rajan Sankaran and Intuitive Homeopathy / Healing Complex Children with Angelica Lemke. She uses Flower and Gem’s Essences as part of her practice.

Raquel has being researching the human body and mind for many years, through somatic practices, embodied anatomy and the art of movement. Body Mind Centering (BMC), Alexander Technique, Klein Technique, Eutony, Klauss Viana, Ballet, Butoh, Yoga and many other forms of dance and movement disciplines were extensively practiced with very knowledgable teachers across the globe: Bonnie BainBridge Cohen, June Ekman, Barbara Mahler and with Master Dancers, Steve Paxton, Yoshito Ohno, Benoit LeChambre, Domique Mercy and other very special artists/movers/dancers.

Born is Brazil, holds a BFA in Dance and Communication from PUC University, and Theatre from Tuca Theatre School, both in Sao Paulo/Brazil.

With her expended vocabulary in many art forms she is devoted to share practices, techniques and perceptions for the ultimate joy of movement and release of tensions, traumas and perspectives.

Has taught dance and embodiment to lay people and has trained theatre companies both in NYC and in Sao Paulo, Brazil since 2010.

Her deep curiosity in dance and movement brought her to study for years and years, many different body techniques, from dance, theatre to yoga and somatic practices. Since the age of 10 she has being devoted to learn from great teachers, dancers and choreographers across the World, including Japan, Brazil, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria and United States.

Some of the movement artists she has studied with are: Bonnie BainBridge Cohen (Body Mind Centering), Yoshito Ohno (Butoh), June Ekman (Alexander Technique), Steve Paxton (Material for the Spine), KJ Holmes and Lisa Nelson (Improvisation), Nancey StarkSmith (Contact Improvisation), Meredith Monk (Theatre/Music), Bennoit La Chambre, Dominique Mercy (Pina Baush), David Zambrano ( Flying low), Barbara Mahler and Susan Klein (Klein Technique), Dianne Madden (Trisha Brown), Vicky Shick, Zelia Monteiro (Ballet and Klauss Vianna), Janet Panetta (Ballet), Fernanda Bevilaqua and many others.

Has performed in NYC at the museums MOMA and PS1 with the work of Steve Paxton. Debuted her solo piece, ‘Cleopatra’, a one woman show directed, choreographed and performed by her at the West End Theatre in NYC. Has acted on the off Broadway play ‘Hans: a case study’ with the actors Andre DeShields and Austin Pendleton.

Has studied classical piano since the age of 5, and has a cd recorded in Brazil with the well known Brazilian Producer and Musician Sergio Dias - Os Mutantes. With her band at the time, Balacabala, has performed many concerts around Brazil. Raquel now has been devoted to Composition and to play Brazilian Choro. Has taught private piano lessons to children and all age beginners, sparkling curiosity and passion to music and piano for over a decade.

When in New York City, Raquel worked with her husband and partner in The Lower East Side, NYC, creating and renting Loft Spaces for special business and travelers from 2012-2017.
